Writer Complains that Picture of Miner with Soot on Face is Racist

Jonah Goldberg, writing for National Review, is blasting a writer who complained after he recently went to have dinner at a Phoenix restaurant.

The writer, named Rashaad Thomas said he was offended and felt threatened after he noticed the restaurant had a photo hanging on the wall of “a man in blackface.”

The problem?

The photo is actually of a coal miner with his face covered in soot.

Thomas claimed that a business’ photograph of men with blackened faces “culturally says to me, ‘Whites Only.’ It says people like me are not welcome.”

Goldberg noted that this case serves to highlight the current trend to rid ourselves of anything that “gives offense to a single person” regardless of the facts.
