Ron Cey
Ron is one of the most beloved and greatest of Dodgers in all the team’s history. Beginning with his amazing rookie season in 1973, that saw him win the Dodgers Rookie of the Year award & his inclusion in the MLB All Rookie Team, Ron thrilled Dodgers fans through ten amazing seasons in LA. As a part of the “Most Successful Infield in MLB History”, with teammates Bill Russell, Davey Lopes & Steve Garvey from June 1973 until October 1981, Ron was the Dodgers MVP in ‘75 & ‘81. He was a 6X All Star (“74, ‘75, ’76, ‘77, ’78 and ’79) and a starter in the ‘74, ’75 & ‘77 Mid-Summer Classic. The ‘77 Season also saw him become a member of the first “30 Homerun Foursome” in MLB History along with Dusty Baker, Steve Garvey & Reggie Smith. Ron also played in four World Series in’74, ‘77, ‘78 and ‘81. In the ‘81 World Championship Series, Ron was named co-World Series MVP. Sport Magazine, as well as many of the Baseball Writers Association of America Chapters, also named him World Series MVP. Ron was voted Greatest 3 rd baseman in Dodger History and is a member of the Dodgers & Los Angeles Dodgers ALL-TIME Team. Ron ranks #1 All-Time in WAR ranking among Dodger infielders.
