A judge on Wednesday blocked the Trump administration from ending the Temporary Protected Status (TPS) program for over 300,000 migrants from Haiti, El Salvador, Honduras and Sudan.

The TPS program allowed immigrants from the four countries ravaged by natural disasters, health epidemics or war to live and work legally in the United States until the situation improves back home.

Fox News reports in his decision, U.S. District Judge Edward Chen in San Francisco claimed that there's evidence that President Trump’s decision to end TPS was motivated by bias against “non-white, non-European aliens.”

Chen wrote that the administration must maintain TPS as a lawsuit challenging the program's termination is ongoing.
