Freshman Democratic Rep. Ilhan Omar is facing a social media backlash for going after Covington Catholic students anew Tuesday night, even after many in the media admitted to initially misreporting on a widely viewed video last week.

Additional video emerged showing that Native American Nathan Phillips approached the students amid racist, homophobic, sexist, and threatening speech on the part of a group of Black Hebrew Israelite protesters being hurled at the students.

Even so, Fox News reports Omar appeared to defend the Black Hebrew Israelite group in a Tuesday tweet, claiming the students surrounded them and led “racist chants.”

She also criticized the boys for taking part in the March for Life rally. After an avalanche of criticism, the tweet was removed by Wednesday.
