Reality TV stars and professing Christians Chip and Joanna Gaines drew criticism once again for featuring LGBT+ individuals in their reality television show. The show, titled Roller Jam, in which the Gaines served as executive producers, featured an all-LBGTQ+ roller skating team. The show's release comes six weeks after they released another produced show, Back to the Frontier, on HBO Max, which features a gay couple and their 10-year-old boys, who were born via surrogacy.

In response to the backlash at the time, Chip Gaines criticized "modern American Christian culture" for being quick to judge and slow to listen.

"It's a sad sunday when 'non believers' have never been confronted with hate or vitriol until they are introduced to a modern American Christian," he said.

His recent post included the Bible verse John 15:5, which states: "I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me, you can do nothing. John 15:5"

According to Church Leaders, the release of Roller Jam was also met with criticism from Christians.

"Another show that @chipgaines and Joanna Gaines are producing. This blows apart Chip's pretense that they are merely trying to be kind and understanding to individuals who identify as LGBTQ," author and Dailywire reporter, Megan Basham wrote on X.

She added, "They are clearly using their positions and influence to promote disordered sexuality and gender behavior."

Basham's post was made in response to a post by Christian polemical news site Protestia, which featured two clips from the show that featured a "queer activist as host, a crossdressing judge who wears ladies' clothes in every episode, and an all-LBGTQ skate team."

According to Not The Bee, the Gaines have "yet another new reality show that seems to be super-duper gay."

The Gaines grew to prominence in HGTV's Fixer Upper as well as their lifestyle brand Magnolia.
